Development Manager

DESCRIPTION

ODIM’s Development Manager is a creative leader, in charge of cultivating new sources of funding and engaging current donors. Since nonprofit development centers on relationships, the Development Manager will communicate ODIM’s impact sincerely and consistently with donors, our traditional volunteer base from churches in the USA, and institutional partners. Because of our location in Guatemala, much of this communication is done online. The Development Manager reports directly and works closely with the Executive Director and is a member of the ODIM Leadership Team. This position is a full-time salaried position (40 hours a week). Some weekend and evenings are required.

 

Basic Requirements: 

Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple projects at once

Desire to become a positive and articulate advocate for ODIM Guatemala

Has a high level of computer literacy and easily masters new marketing and database programs

Uses their intelligence and creativity independently and as a team member

At least one year of relevant experience required

Understands current best-practices for nonprofit development

 

Desired Skills:

Experience in layout and design of marketing materials

Database and grant writing experience

 

65% - Fundraising & Donor Development

Manages donor database, Network for Good, to track incoming gifts, acknowledge donors, and create useful reports

Organizes and executes promotional and fundraising campaigns

Leads efforts to turn ODIM volunteers into donors

Leads in planning and implementation of special events that support ODIM’s development goals

Works with Executive Director on donor cultivation and stewardship

Attends trainings and webinars to stay current with industry best-practices

Innovates to develop new and creative ways to engage current donors and reach new ones

Develops annual strategic fundraising plans and goals with Executive Director and Board of Directors

 

20% - Marketing & Communications

Coordinates production of Annual Report

Creates communications that invite current partners into a deeper relationship with ODIM, its employees, and the people we serve.

Manages the ODIM website and contributes timely and engaging content

Creates and improves social media platforms that benefit ODIM

Works with other staff to promote ODIM to the local community

 

 15% - Grants

Researches grant prospects

Supports grant writing in conjunction with ODIM staff and Board of Directors
