Fundraising and Communications Manager

ODIM’s Fundraising and Communications Manger is in charge of connecting ODIM to people all over the world, cultivating new sources of funding and engaging current donors.

The successful candidate will have creative flair, a strong attention to detail, and is not afraid to approach donors for support. We need someone to continue strengthening existing relationships whilst diversifying our funding streams.

You will be based at our offices in San Juan and San Pablo La Laguna, on beautiful Lake Atitlán, so that you are able to work with the local team and develop stories from our work on the ground.

ODIM provides healthcare and education to more than 5000 people annually, through our passionate team of 40 staff.

This person reports directly and works closely with the Executive Director and is a member of the ODIM Leadership Team. This position is a full-time salaried position (40 hours a week). A few weekends and evenings are required.


-      Skilled creative writer and strong attention to detail

-      Experience in maintaining databases, updating websites and managing social media

-      Experience in managing successful fundraising campaigns or initiatives

-      Comfortable working independently and spearheading new fundraising initiatives

-      At least one year of relevant experience required

-      Understands current best-practices for nonprofit development


-      Experience in graphic design 

-      Experience living in a foreign culture

-      Database and grant writing experience


60% - Development of Donor Relationships and Fundraising

Designs and executes fundraising campaigns

Creates regular fundraising requests and targets specific relevant donors 

Aims to turn ODIM volunteers into long term donors

Manages donor database to track incoming gifts, acknowledge donors, and create reports

Attends trainings and webinars to stay current with industry best practices

Tracks progress against annual fundraising plan

Develops annual strategic fundraising plans and goals with Executive Director

Works with Executive Director on fundraising strategy and donor stewardship strategy

30% - Marketing & Communications

Manages the ODIM website and contributes timely and engaging content

Creates and improves social media platforms

Coordinates production of annual Impact Report for donors

Manages and develops communication with donors for new sponsorship programs

Works with staff to promote ODIM to the local community and in Guatemala

10% - Grants

Researches grant prospects

Writes grant proposals
